Water Quality

Photo: drinking waterA strong, healthy and vibrant community and its people rely not only on an ample supply of drinking water but water of the highest quality.  The Board of Water Supply's Water Quality Program is aimed at bringing quality, confidence and assurance in every glass of water you drink and gallon you use each and every day using a three-facet approach.

First, working in conjunction with State and Federal agencies, such as the Environmental Protection Agency and Hawai'i State Department of Health,  water samples are continuously collected from the Board's water sources, treatment and distribution systems to insure the company delivers and meets the highest standards.

Second, the company conducts on-going research and stays in touch with other government agencies, water utilities nationwide and academic institutions to insure we are aware, respond to, and know the latest trends, regulatory changes and environment issues related to drinking water.

Finally, the Board wants our customers to have the very best information available on time, every time so that you know everything there is to know about your drinking water.  The BWS Water Quality Report or "Consumer Confidence Report (CCR)" is updated annually and direct mailed to our customers each summer.  Click here for a copy of the report for your area.
