Board of Water Supply to Close Lobby to the Public Effective Monday, August 30, 2021


HONOLULU – In response to the rising COVID-19 infections and resulting hospitalizations, the Board of Water Supply (BWS) will be temporarily closing its lobby to the public starting Monday, August 30, 2021, until further notice. 

The BWS will continue to serve its customers without interruption through alternative methods:

Bill payment: We offer 5 (five) different ways to pay. Customers may use online services, pay by phone services, our drop box, automatic deductions from their bank account or by mailing their payment.

Account & billing support: Call (808) 748-5000 or email us at customerservice@hbws.org.

Building plans / permits: Plans can be dropped off from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 630 S. Beretania St. There are bins outside. If you have any questions, please call Service Engineering at (808) 748-5460.

Detailed information about these alternative service methods can be obtained by:

BWS personnel are available 24/7/365 to assist with water system leaks, damages and emergencies. Should you require this type of support, please call (808) 748-5000 and select Option 1.

BWS will continue to provide water service to the community and wants to emphasize that the water is safe to drink. The water system is a closed pressurized system, and it is nearly impossible to introduce foreign objects, bacteria or viruses into the system. The water is disinfected with chlorine at levels that are effective in killing bacteria and viruses. Testing is conducted daily to ensure disinfection levels are maintained and the water is safe to drink.
