BWS PROVIDES WATER SYSTEM UPDATE & URGES BEING PREPARED
AUGUST 19, 2026, 4:45 PM – BWS has successfully restored power to our facilities, with one well currently operating on generator power. The BWS extends a big mahalo to HECO and their team for their efforts to restore electrical power back to our sites. BWS anticipates a return to normal operations by early next week.
BWS urges residents to continue limiting water use until the official request for water conservation is lifted. Your cooperation is essential in ensuring everyone has access to the resources they need. Most importantly, be sure you have a 14-day supply of water on hand. There is another storm coming toward Hawaii and O’ahu may again have power outages.
In addition, the BWS will leave spigots in place at the following locations:
1522 Laukahi Street at BWS Hydrant Number 4565
420 Puuikena Drive at BWS Hydrant Number 6812
1367 Aina Koa Avenue at BWS Hydrant Number 3744
688 N. Kuakini Street (near Lanakila Elementary School) at BWS Hydrant Number 3959
These locations will not be manned by BWS personnel, but they will be checked regularly by BWS crew. Please be sure to turn off the spigot after each use. Any spigot left open or tampered with may result in the removal of the equipment and the closure of the water source.
