Applications & Permits
If you are developing a new property, the building permit process requires you to obtain clearance from the Board of Water Supply for a water meter. The BWS also reviews all construction plans of private, City, State, and Federal projects that may influence and/or impact BWS facilities. Customer Service: The Cross Connection Control Section (CCCS) works to ensure that the public drinking water system is protected from possible contamination through cross-connections and backflow conditions.

Commercial Development
Customer Service: Large commercial developments often require master plans and more complex and thorough analysis of the ability of the existing water system to accommodate the specific development request. In addition to meeting water pressure, adequacy, and fire protection requirements as covered under the Board of Water Supply (BWS) Water System Standards and the BWS Rules and Regulations, large developments can require additional water facilities such as a water source, storage reservoir, and/or transmission mains.

Project Review
Customer Service: The Board of Water Supply (BWS) Project Review Section responds to requests for water service from developers/subdividers, landowners, and realtors. The team evaluates the ability of the existing water system to accommodate the specific development request.
