Water System Improvement Project in Kaneohe to Begin on March 6, 2019

HONOLULU – On March 6, 2019, Board of Water Supply (BWS) contractor MEI Corporation, is scheduled to begin a project to install approximately 2,600 feet of 12-inch and 8-inch water mains along Hui Ulili Street from Hui Kelu Street to Hui Io Street in Kahaluu.

The renewal of the water system will improve fire protection and water service reliability for customers in the area. The original water mains in the work area were installed in the 1960s.

Roadwork will occur Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will involve lane closures at various locations throughout the work area. Area residents and motorists are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes during construction hours. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, this project will be completed in the first quarter of 2020. Questions and comments may be directed to the BWS Construction Section at 748-5730 or by emailing contactus@hbws.org.
