McArthur Street 8-Inch Water Main Project

HONOLULU – MEI Corporation, the Board of Water Supply’s (BWS) contractor for the McArthur Street 8-Inch Water Main project in Waianae is scheduled to begin work on or after May 22, 2023. The renewal of the water system will improve water service reliability for customers in the area.

The project will replace approximately 1,500 feet of water mains along McArthur Street from Mill Street to Waianae Valley Road, 1,500 feet of water mains along Kawili Street from Ihuku Street to end, and 500 feet of water mains along Alamihi Street from Kawaili Street to end.

Road work on McArthur Street will occur from 8:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays; and from 8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Wednesdays. Working hours for the Kawili Street and Alamihi Street portions of the project will occur from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Area residents and motorists are advised to expect delays during construction hours. Based on the current schedule, this project will be completed in the third quarter of 2024. Questions and comments may be directed to the BWS at 808-748-5041 or by emailing contactus@hbws.org.
