Kalawahine Pipeline Project

HONOLULU – The Board of Water Supply (BWS) is scheduled to restart construction on June 5, 2023, for the “Kalawahine 180 2.0 MG Reservoir Connecting Pipelines Project.”  Please note that the Kalawahine Reservoir Project has been canceled, and only the pipeline is being installed.

Frank Coluccio Construction Company, Inc., the contractor for this project, will install approximately 4,913 feet of new 24-inch water mains, including appurtenances and pipe corrosion protection on Pensacola Street from Nehoa Street to Kinau Street.  The construction of this 24-inch water main will improve water system performance and reliability. It will also assist in meeting domestic fire protection needs.

Road work will occur Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and will involve lane closures at various locations throughout the work area. Area residents and motorists are advised to expect delays during construction hours.  Based on the current schedule, this project will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2024.  Questions and comments may be directed to the BWS Communications Office at 748-5041 or by emailing contactus@hbws.org.
