Auloa Road and Ulukahiki Street: 16-Inch Water Mains Project

HONOLULU – Nan, Inc., the Board of Water Supply’s (BWS) contractor for the Auloa Road and Ulukahiki Street: 16-Inch Water Mains project in Kailua is working to replace approximately 7,700 feet of 16-inch water mains and 300 feet of 8-inch water mains installed from the 1960s. The renewal of the water system will improve fire protection and water service reliability for residents in the area.

This project will affect the following areas:

  • Auloa Road from FH W-3044 to Kalanianaole Highway
  • Ulukahiki Street from Kalanianaole Highway to end
  • Loop Road from Auloa Road to pipe bridge over Maunawili Stream
  • Under Kalanianaole Highway from Loop Road to Ulukahiki Street

Road work will occur Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and will involve lane closures at various locations throughout the work area. Area residents and motorists are advised to expect delays during construction hours. Based on the current schedule, this project will be completed in the first quarter of 2025.
