Fire Hydrant Installation Project in Kailua

 

HONOLULU – MEI Corporation, Inc., the Board of Water Supply’s (BWS) contractor for a project to install 59 new fire hydrants in Kailua is scheduled to begin work on October 1, 2019.

This project will improve fire protection for residents and will impact the following areas: Uluoa Street, North Kainalu Drive, South Kainalu Drive, Auwinala Road, Wanaao Road, Aumoe Road, Pouli Road, Awakea Road, Kailua Road, Kuukama Street, Kuuhale Street, Kuuala Street, Kuupua Street, Kuulei Road, Ohana Street, Makua Street, Makawao Street, Ulupa Street, Mookua Street, Kapaa Street, Kaluamoo Street, Kaimi Street, and Palapu Street.

Roadwork will occur Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will involve lane closures at various locations throughout the work area.  Area residents and motorists are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes during construction hours.
