BWS Invites Community to Imagine a Day Without Water
HONOLULU - The Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS), in partnership with Representative Chris Muraoka’s office, invites the public to Imagine a Day Without Water on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ark of Safety in the Waiʻanae Mall.
Held annually in a different part of Oʻahu, this free, family-friendly event brings education and resources directly to communities across the island. This year, the BWS is proud to bring the event to the Waiʻanae Coast.
More than 30 government agencies, organizations and community partners will participate to highlight the essential role water plays in daily life. Attendees can discover the journey of every drop, learn about the One Water concept, and how to prepare for emergencies and disasters.
Other event highlights include:
Information about the Waiʻanae Watershed Management Plan and efforts to protect the area’s water resources for future generations.
Hands-on keiki activities, including an opportunity to create an air plant jellyfish craft.
A rain barrel workshop, where you can purchase your very own!
Prize giveaways.

“Our watersheds are the source of Oʻahu’s water supply, and protecting them is essential to our community’s health, safety, and resilience,” said Manager and Chief Engineer Ernest Lau. “The Imagine a Day Without Water event gives residents an opportunity to learn where their water comes from, how to use it wisely, and to properly prepare their families before a major disaster or emergency occurs.”
