Board of Water Supply Launches a New Residential Rebate on Smart Water Monitors

HONOLULU - The Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS) has launched a new smart water monitor rebate as part of its Water Sensible Program for residential customers.

Customers who install a smart water monitor in their home can qualify for a rebate of up to $200. Smart Water Monitors attach to your home’s water line and provide data about water usage and potential leaks. Devices that touch the water meter, such as a "Flume," are not eligible for this rebate.  Acceptable models are Wi-Fi enabled and connect to a mobile app so you can check your water usage and get alerts sent to your phone. Some models can even shut off your water in the event of a major leak while you are not home.

A small ½-gallon-per-minute leak can waste over 700 gallons of water per day. On top of that, water damage can lead to thousands of dollars in repairs. These devices can help prevent these problems and save water and money! BWS customers can apply for and learn more about this and other residential and commercial rebates at www.boardofwatersupply.com/rebates.
