Welcome to the Club

The Board of Water Supply Amateur Radio Club (BWS ARC) formed in 2019 following the offering of voluntary classes at BWS to learn about ham radio and attempt to become licensed operators through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The BWS ARC began operating under the call sign KH6BWS in September 2020.

BWS ARC Weekly Net

The BWS amateur radio club – call sign KH6BWS – runs a weekly net on the linked Honolulu Department of Emergency Management (DEM) repeaters at noon on Wednesdays. The Net Control generally runs the net from the club base station at the BWS Beretania Complex, but they may also conduct the net from other locations using the same repeaters.

In respect of the lunch hour for staff, it is a check-in only net. The net is first opened to emergency traffic, then BWS licensed amateur operators, followed by any other licensed operators. Participants are asked to check in with their call sign, name, repeater, and physical location.
