Temporary, Non-Civil Service Employment

  • Job Title: Air Conditioning Mechanic 
    Duties: Conducts regular visual inspections and operational tests of all air conditioning and refrigeration systems which include air handling units, fan coil units, chillers, compressors, condensers, split systems, window units, cooling towers, ventilation fans, chilled and condenser water pumps, and ice machines, etc.

  • Job Title: Billing Clerk [NEW!] 
    Duties: Maintains and reviews timely and accurate customer accounts and billing by verifying consumption data and making billing adjustments as needed.

  • Job Title: Claims Management Specialist [NEW!]
    Duties: Adjusts claims under the BWS self-insured programs for general liability and auto liabilities.  Must possess a current State of Hawaii Independent Adjuster license.

  • Job Title: Collections Representative [NEW!]
    Duties: Supports the Board of Water Supply’s delinquency collection activities by handling inbound and outbound calls to/from delinquent customers; tracks account status, issues payment agreements, and input and monitor the information in the computer system.

  • Job Title: Data Processing Systems Analyst II
    Duties: Designs, configures, develops, tests and implements systems and procedures in support of Board of Water Supply enterprise systems. Must have two years of experience as a system analyst.  Experience in supporting IBM Maximo, Oracle CC&B, JD Edwards, Kronos application systems, Microsoft SQL Server, Cobol, or Java is preferred, but not required.

  • Job Title: Electrician
    Duties: Responsible for building electrical systems, equipment and appurtenant fixtures for all BWS corporation/base yards and pumping facilities.  Conducts regular visual inspections and operational tests; installs, maintains, and repairs the building electrical components.

  • Job Title: Environmental Management Specialist
    Duties: Plans, determines and enforces the department’s water system compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations related to the elimination and prevention of environmental pollution.

  • Job Title: Field Collection Representative [NEW!]
    Duties: Directly contacts delinquent customers to collect overdue payments. Explains departmental rules and regulations. Drives to make field contacts to issue warning and final action notices. May need to remove excess dirt or pick/cut surrounding roots as necessary.

  • Job Title: Information Systems Analyst or Trainee
    Duties: Assists in designing, analyzing, and application of software for the Board of Water Supply (BWS) enterprise systems; that include JD Edwards ERP, Maximo Asset and Work Management, Kronos Time and Attendance and Oracle Customer Care and Billing Systems.

  • Job Title: Information Systems Trainee [NEW!]
    Under close supervision and guidance of a Data Processing Systems Analyst, this position assists the Application Development and Database Management sections with specific, clearly defined routine assignments.

  • Job Title: Information Systems Security Officer [NEW!]
    Duties: Serves as an Information Systems Security Officer for the Board of Water Supply, oversees all IT risk management activities, and is reponsible for establishing and maintaining an organization wide Information Security Program (Policies and Procedures) to ensure that systems and information assets are adequately protected. Ensures compliance through the implementation of recurring vulnerability and risk assessments and exercises. Determines acceptable levels of IT system risk for the organization, working with the management team. The work requires professional experience in system security/cyber security and CISSP, or other comparable security certification.

  • Job Title: IT Infrastructure Specialist
    Duties: Assists in the implementation, management and maintenance of the IT virtualization infrastructure systems, servers, Storage Area Network (SAN), and Cloud and co-location services.  Deploys and maintains island wide systems equipment. Participate in projects and resource scheduling.

  • Job Title: Laboratory Water Quality Assurance Specialist
    Duties: Plans, coordinates, implements, monitors and administers a comprehensive drinking water laboratory quality assurance program.

  • Job Title: MIS Trainee [NEW!]
    Duties: Under close supervision and guidance of a Data Processing Systems Analyst, this position assists with specific, clearly defined routine assignment.

  • Job Title: Meter Reader [NEW!]
    Duties: Collects accurate and timely water consumption data from the Board of Water Supply customers on an assigned route through the use of a vehicle-based Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system, a hand-held reader, or by visual readings. Returns to site of unread meters to locate meters and obtain meter readings visually or by a hand-held device. Downloads daily route information to the vehicle-based AMR system computer.
