Planned Water Outage at Kailua Beach Park on November 15

HONOLULU – The contractor for the Board of Water Supply’s (BWS) Lanikai Water System Improvements, Part II, project, will be conducting a planned water outage affecting all restrooms, fountains, and showers at Kailua Beach Park on Monday, November 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The outage is required for the contractor to connect the new water main on the Kawailoa Bridge to the existing water main servicing the Kailua Beach and Lanikai areas. The BWS will be providing portable toilets (one standard and one ADA-compliant) for use by park users at each restroom station during the outage.

This planned work is subject to change. As a reminder to motorists, please expect traffic delays from lane closures at various locations in the vicinity of Kailua Beach Park, Mondays through Fridays, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., except for observed State holidays. Based on the current schedule, work to replace the pipe along the bridge is anticipated to be completed by the end of December 2021.

The BWS appreciates the community’s patience and kokua as this important project is completed. The work will result in a more resilient water system serving the area.

Questions and comments may be directed to the BWS Construction Branch at (808) 748-5730 or by emailing contactus@hbws.org.
