Kamehameha Heights Water System Improvements, Part III Project

HONOLULU – Mega Construction, Inc., the Board of Water Supply’s (BWS) contractor for the Kamehameha Heights Water System Improvements, Part III project is scheduled to begin work on or about February 22, 2021. The renewal of the water system will improve water service reliability for customers in the area.

The project will install approximately 10,850 feet of 4-inch, 6-inch, and 8-inch water mains, and 860 feet of 12-inch mains.Kamehameha-Heights-Water-System-Improvements-Part-III.jpg

The work will affect the following areas:
• Kealia Drive from Kapalama Avenue to Hillcrest Street
• Naio Street from Houghtailing Street to end
• Hillcrest Street from Kealia Drive to Skyline Drive
• Skyline Drive from Hillcrest Street to Puna Street
• Makanani Drive from Naio Street to Kula Street
• Kula Street from Makanani Drive to end
• Lolena Place from Makanani Drive to end
• Aulii Street from Makanani Drive to Alewa Drive 
• Puna Street from Aulii Street to end
• Hala Drive from Kalepa Place to Lolena Street
• Lolena Street from Makanani Drive to Hala Drive

Working hours for the project will be Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and will involve lane closures at various locations throughout the work area between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Area residents and motorists are advised to expect delays and exercise caution when driving through the worksite during construction hours. Based on the current schedule, this project will be completed in the third quarter of 2022.
