We all play a role in taking care of our natural resources, including our beautiful watersheds and precious water resources. One important way to conserve water is through xeriscape. If you have ever wanted to learn about Xeriscape and how to conserve water outdoors, The Honolulu Board of Water Supply and the Friends of Halawa Xeriscape Garden are hosting Mālama ʻĀina at Halawa Xersicape Garden. Everyone from kids to adults are invited to get their hands dirty while also learning how to conserve our precious water resource through Xeriscape.
Saturday, April 11, 2020
10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Halawa Xeriscape Garden
99-1268 Iwaena Street
Halawa Valley's Central Park Industrial Area
Mālama ʻĀina at Halawa Xeriscape Garden offers an opportunity for the whole family to get an introduction to xeriscape while helping provide some tender loving care for many of the xeric plants found in our demonstration garden. If you don’t mind getting dirty this is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the core principles of xeriscape and tips on saving water outdoors. Please dress appropriately, wear shoes, apply sunscreen, bring a hat, bug repellent and water bottle. All keiki must be supervised by a responsible adult.
Registration is now open, call 748-5315 or email email@example.com to register. Registration closes at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2020 or when all spaces are filled. BWS security and workshop registration requires submittal of participants full name, home address, phone number, and email address where applicable.
