HONOLULU – RMY Construction Inc., the Board of Water Supply’s (BWS) contractor for the Ala Aolani Water System Improvement project is scheduled to begin work on June 8. The renewal of the water system will improve water service reliability for customers in the area.
The project will replace approximately 4,200 feet of 12-inch and 16-inch water mains, and approximately 4,200 feet of 4-inch, 8-inch water mains installed from the 1960s and 1970s.
The work will affect the following areas:
Road work will occur Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and will involve lane closures at various locations throughout the work area. Area residents and motorists are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes during construction hours. Based on the current schedule, this project will be completed in the second quarter of 2021.
