The renewal of the water system will improve water service reliability and fire protection for customers in the area. The existing waterlines were installed at various times, ranging from the 1930s through the 1970s.

The work will affect the following areas:

  • Hihiwai Street
  • Lauiki Street
  • Kamoku Street from Hihiwai Street to Kapiolani Boulevard

Road work will occur Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and will involve lane closures at various locations throughout the work area. Area residents and motorists are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes during construction hours. Based on the current schedule, this project will be completed in the second quarter of 2020. Questions and comments may be directed to the BWS Construction Section at 748-5730 or by emailing contactus@hbws.org.
