sunflower garden art workshopWelcome to Art in the Garden Series. NO PAINTING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED! Our event will feature tasty non-alcoholic mock-cocktails while you paint! Participants will have fun creating their very own sunflower "Masterpiece" in just one class! All participants receive step-by-step instructions from start to finish, and at the same time, learn about the sunflower’s care, unique Xeric characteristics and how this hardy, drought tolerant plant, when used in your landscape can help reduce your outdoor water consumption. This fun and educational event is a hands-on workshop offered by the Board of Water Supply (BWS), Friends of Halawa Xeriscape Garden (FOHXG) and Erika Brown, member of FOHXG.

Details

Participants will have fun creating a vibrant sun flower painting on a spacious 16”x 20” canvas, Instructor Erika Brown will coach students on the use of acrylic paints and how to use blending and shading techniques to give their masterpiece just the right touch. All that, while being served mock cocktails, (No-Jitos, Bella No-Bellini’s and Sunflower non-highball), and a host of educational tidbits regarding this drought tolerant plant, including tips on how it can help reduce outdoor water consumption in landscapes. Sunflower Garden Art is an adult only workshop.
