Butterflies and xeric plants are important partners in garden and landscape sustainability. An informative workshop offered by the Board of Water Supply (BWS) and Friends of Halawa Xeriscape Garden (FOHXG) instructs participants on how to identify and use unthirsty plants to attract butterflies and why their symbiotic relationship can benefit a garden or landscape’s sustainability.

Details

This informative workshop teaches participants proper placement of plants and how they can add whimsy to create a unique garden that is both beautiful and functional. A visit to the Halawa Xeriscape Garden’s butterfly garden will show participants how these techniques can be implemented. The workshop leader will be available to answer questions including those pertaining to basic gardening.

Advanced registration is required. Registration opens on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, and closes at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2017, or when all spaces are filled.
