Planned Overnight Road Work
on Kalanianaole Hwy in Aina Haina
Feb. 19 (Fri) - Feb. 20 (Sat)

East-bound motorists advised to plan for possible
traffic impacts from 9:30 PM to 5:00 AM

HONOLULU – East-bound motorists on Kalanianaole Highway in Aina Haina are advised to plan for potential traffic impacts overnight from 9:30PM, Fri., Feb. 19, to 5:00AM, Sat., Feb. 20, due to roadwork by a Board of Water Supply (BWS) paving contractor. The contractor will be completing a final paving of a trench in the east-bound lanes of the highway, across the Aina Haina McDonald’s located between West Hind Drive and Nenue St.

“To help minimize the impact on the community, the work is being done when fewer cars travel the road in that area” said BWS Manager and Chief Engineer Ernest Lau.  “Additionally, the contractor will always keep two lanes open as the work progresses across the highway.”

The BWS will be reaching out to the community as follows:
•    Contacting the district’s elected officials;
•    Posting messages on the BWS’s social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, and Nextdoor;
•    Posting alerts on HNL.info, the city’s electronic alert service; and
•    Arranging for an electronic signboard to be set up on Kalanianaole Hwy. next week.

When the work is completed, the BWS will notify the community through social media and HNL.info.
