Lanikai Water System Improvements, Part II Project

HONOLULU – MIRA Image Construction, LLC, the Board of Water Supply’s (BWS) contractor for the Lanikai Water System Improvements, Part II project is scheduled to begin work on or about April 26, 2021. The renewal of the water system will improve water service reliability for customers in the area.

The project will install approximately 1,455 feet of 16-inch water mains, 1,858 feet of 8-inch water mains, 200 feet of 6-inch water mains, and 180 feet of 4-inch water mains. The project will begin on Kalaheo Avenue from Kailua Road to Lihiwai Road in the vicinity of Kalapawai Market.

• Lihiwai Road from Kalaheo Avenue to Kawailoa Road
• Kawailoa Road from Lihiwai Road to Popoia Road
• Kawailoa Road from Alala Road to dead end
• Alala Road between Kawailoa Road and Kaneapu Place
• Mokolea Drive between Aalapapa Drive and Lanipo Drive
• Koohoo Place between Aalapapa Drive and dead end

Road work will occur Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and will involve lane closures at various locations throughout the work area. Area residents and motorists are advised to expect delays and exercise caution when driving through the worksite during construction hours. Based on the current schedule, this project will be completed in the second quarter of 2022.
