Water Service Lateral Replacement Project in Waipio and Waikele

HONOLULU – Integrated Construction, Inc., the Board of Water Supply’s (BWS) contractor for a project to replace 210 water service laterals for customers in Waipio and Waikele, is scheduled to begin work on January 4, 2021. Service laterals are the pipes that connect the water main under the street to the water meters serving each home.

This project will improve water service reliability for residents in the following areas: 
• Waipio: Pulai Street and Moolelo Street
• Waikele: Kanawao Street, Kanawao Place, Laukea Street, Pumaia Place, Pumaia Way, Pulelo Street, Pulelo Place, and Wehena Place

Working hours for the project will be Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and will involve lane closures at various locations throughout the work area between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Area residents and motorists are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes during construction hours. Based on the current schedule, this project will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2021.
