Water System Improvement Project in Manoa

HONOLULU – Board of Water Supply (BWS) contractor, Integrated Construction Inc., is working to install approximately 3,800 feet of 12-inch water main, and 800 feet of 4-inch and 8-inch water mains in Manoa.

The renewal of the water system will improve fire protection and water service reliability for customers in the area. The existing waterlines were installed at various times, ranging from the 1950s through the 1960s.

The following areas will be impacted:

  • Kumu Street from Kumulani Place to Oahu Avenue
  • Oahu Avenue from Kumu Street to Manoa Road
  • Pawaina Street from Manoa Road to Pinao Street
  • Manoa Estates Road

Road work will occur Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and will involve lane closures at various locations throughout the work area. Area residents and motorists are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes during construction hours. Based on the current schedule, this project will be completed in the second quarter of 2020. Questions and comments may be directed to the BWS Construction Section at 748-5730 or by emailing contactus@hbws.org.
