Lunalilo Home Road Water System Improvements Project

HONOLULU – Mega Construction, Inc., the Board of Water Supply’s (BWS) contractor for the Lunalilo Home Road Water System Improvements project is scheduled to begin work on December 9. The renewal of the water system will improve water service reliability for customers in the area.

lunalilo home road wsi mapThe project will replace approximately 2,940 feet of 8-inch mains, and 2,580 feet of 12-inch mains installed from the 1970s and 1980s.

The work will affect the following areas:

  • Kalapaki Street between Wainiha Street and Lunalilo Home Road
  • Lunalilo Home Road between Kalapaki Street and Kamiloiki Place, and between Kolokolo Place and Kaiama Place
  • Kamiloiki Place
  • Kolokolo Street between Lunalilo Home Road and Kolokolo Place
  • Kolokolo Place

Road closures will occur Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at various locations throughout the work area.  Area residents and motorists are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes during construction hours. Based on the current schedule, this project will be completed in the first quarter of 2021.  Questions and comments may be directed to the BWS Construction Section at 748-5730 or by emailing contactus@hbws.org.
