BWS to Host Three Community Meetings to Collect Public Input for Water-Use Plan for Metropolitan Honolulu

HONOLULU – The Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS) will be hosting its third series of regional community meetings to discuss and to seek public input on its Primary Urban Center Watershed Management Plan (PUC WMP). The community is invited to engage in a conversation on water-related issues and solutions for watershed health, cultural resources, water quality, climate change resilience, sea level rise adaptation, and diversified water supply and water conservation options for meeting future water needs to 2100.

The community meetings will be held at three regional watershed venues across the PUC district:

  • Tuesday, October 23, 2018
    Kapalama Elementary School
    1601 North School Street
  • Thursday, October 25, 2018
    Ala Wai Elementary School
    503 Kamoku Street
  • Tuesday, October 30, 2018
    Aiea Elementary School
    99-370 Moanalua Road

All meetings are from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The meetings will include an informational presentation with public comments and questions to follow.

The PUC WMP is one of eight district-wide WMPs. Plans for Waianae, Koolau Loa, Koolau Poko, and the North Shore have been completed, while plans for Ewa, Central Oahu, and East Honolulu are ongoing. For more information, visit www.boardofwatersupply.com
