HXG Workshop: Succulent Wall Art
The Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS), in partnership with the Friends of Halawa Xeriscape Garden (FOHXG), will host the Succulent Framed Art workshop. The workshop is an excellent opportunity for participants to explore their artistic talents by creating a living garden in a frame.
Saturday, May 27, 2017
10:30 a.m. to noon
Halawa Xeriscape Garden
99-1268 Iwaena Street
Halawa Valley’s Central Park

We accept cash, check and most major credit cards.
This hands-on workshop lets participants construct their own living mosaic from beginning to end. BWS staff will teach participants to build their own wooden frames, how to fill it with potting mix, and finish the project by selecting and arranging succulent plants from the Halawa Xeriscape Garden.
Succulent plants are perfect for this type of project as they retain water by storing it in their leaves, stems, and roots, and come in a variety of shapes, textures, sizes and color. Succulents survive on minimal water, thrive in drier climates, are considered low maintenance, and are visually pleasing. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have created an awe-inspiring masterpiece of living, framed art to enjoy and grow at home.
Registration is full and closed as of Friday, March 10.
Advanced registration is required. Registration begins on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, and closes at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017, or when all spaces are filled. Call (808) 748-5315 or email email@example.com to register. BWS security requires full name and address of all participants.
