HXG Workshop: Painting Pineapples (A Paint in the Garden Workshop)
The second of our “Paint in the Garden,” Series, is a fun-filled, NO PAINTING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED workshop! This workshop is inspired by Hawaii’s all-time local favorite, The Pineapple! Participants receive step-by-step instructions from start to finish. As they complete their masterpiece they will learn about the care and unique characteristics of the Pineapple, a member of the Bromeliad family. In real life, this drought tolerant plant can help reduce outdoor water consumption when used in your landscape. This new and exciting, hands-on workshop is offered by the Board of Water Supply (BWS), Friends of Halawa Xeriscape Garden (FOHXG) and Erika Brown, member of FOHXG.

The Pineapple, a symbol of hospitality and friendship is the perfect theme for a Saturday morning workshop. Please join us in creating an 11” x 14” painting, making new friends and learning all about this xeric favorite. Instructor Erika Brown will coach students on the use of acrylic paints and how to use layering, blending and shading techniques to give their masterpiece just the right look, one they will be proud to display on a wall or table. The Painting Pineapple Workshop is an adult only workshop. We recommend packing a meal and/or snack with beverage, and an apron.
Advanced registration is required. Registration opens Tuesday, February 27, 2018, and closes at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018, or when all spaces are filled.
