HXG Workshop: Gardening with Beneficial Microbes
A hands-on workshop offered by the Board of Water Supply (BWS), Friends of Halawa Xeriscape Garden (FOHXG), and Jan Nadamoto will teach you how to make your own beneficial microbes. Gardening with beneficial microbes promotes the growth of healthy plants which may require less watering and maintenance.

Come join us and instructor Jan Nadamoto to learn about microbes and how they can: help to create healthy leaves, improve your plants nutritional intake, minimize fungus mold and insects, and encourage development of a strong root system. At this workshop, participants will be taught how to use these microbes, how they play a part in Bokashi composting, and the variety of ways the mix and by-products can be used.
You will also be taught how to make some of this "liquid gold" made with indigenous microbes. You’ll be taking home your very own concoction to use on your own plants and you’ll be the envy of your neighbors and friends when they see how you manage such beautiful and healthy plants effortlessly!
Advanced registration is required. Registration begins on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, and closes at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2018, or when all spaces are filled. Call (808) 748-5315 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register. BWS security and workshop registration requires submittal of participants full name, home address, phone number, and email address where applicable.
