chemical free pest managementThe Board of Water Supply (BWS) and Friends of Halawa Xeriscape Garden (FOHXG) offer an out-of-the-box solution for pest control in outdoor spaces. Controlling unwanted insects without the use of chemicals is a fun, organic method which supports healthy plants and a healthy planet. Participants will be introduced to chemical free techniques that will change the way they manage their garden!

Details

This informative workshop introduces you to Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques, companion planting, and how to make creative pest traps from repurposed materials found at home. Homeowners who apply these techniques will minimize their chemical impact on the environment. Participants will make a mosquito or white fly trap to take home. Please bring a plastic liter bottle for the workshop. We’ll be repurposing it for your insect trap.

Advanced registration is required. Registration opens on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, and closes at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017, or when all spaces are filled.
