2019 Theme: "Do Your Part, Be Water Smart."
Water conservation means using our limited water supply wisely and caring for it properly. Since each of us depends on water for life, it is our responsibility to learn more about water conservation and how we can take an active role in ensuring sustainability of Oahu’s water supply.
The Board of Water Supply (BWS) encourages students to reflect on, and convey in their artwork or poem, simple actions that anyone can do to save water. No water-conserving effort is too small - everyone can do their part to use our precious drinking water resources wisely and contribute to an island-wide commitment to a sustainable future.
The contest theme itself does not need to appear in the artwork or poetry. However, entries should reflect the theme and depict or demonstrate water conservation efforts for fresh, drinking water. Students may depict but are not limited to these concepts: general water conservation indoors, outdoors, at home, at work, and at play; sustaining water resources for future generations; watershed protection; and the water cycle.
