Starting, Stopping or Transferring Your Water Service

Start service and stop service request forms for the Board of Water Supply (BWS) are available online. Customers may also call Customer Service at (808) 748-5030 for assistance.

Stopping Water Service

If you are moving out, all water and sewer charges will continue to be your responsibility until you notify the BWS to terminate service in your name. We will accept the date of your call or a future date as the service termination date. A closing receipt number will be provided to you as your proof that we have been notified of the termination of service.

Starting Water Service

To start your water service, please refer to the list below for whom to contact at the BWS, and if you need to provide any specific information.

I am moving into a single family residence.

  • Provide the following information:
    • Your name
    • Your new address
    • The date you want to start water service (also known as the "effective date")
    • The billing address (if it is different from your new place of residence)
    • A Letter of Credit from your last utility (if available)

I would like a new water service for a vacant lot.

  • If requested:
    • Water allocation letter
    • Conditions for Water Service Above the Service Limit form

  • Determine to which water district you belong.
  • Complete and submit irrigation water management plan with the following information:
    • Type of crop production
    • Crop irrigation requirements
    • Type of irrigation system

Upon establishing the agricultural water service, you will receive an agricultural packet if you wish to apply for agricultural water rate.
