- Habit: shrub
- Mature height: 4-11 feet, 6 feet spread
- Leaves: leaves opposite, borne on upper 5-10nodes, those of a pair unequal, symmetrical, coriaceous, elliptic, 5-16cm long, upper surface conspicuously rugose, the pricipal veins strongly impressed, glabrous to sparsely bullate hirsute, lower surface moderately to densely pale brownish puberulent, margins serrulate and often revolute, apex acute, base cuneate to attenuate, petioles 1-5cm long
- Flowers/inflorescence: flowers 7-12 in subumbelliform, branched cymes arising in the leaf axils, sparsely puberulent, becoming glabrate, peduncles slender, 12-18mm long, pedicels slender, 3-19mm long, brancts lanceolate, 3-10mm long; calyx nearly actinomorphic, greenish white when fresh, 4-6mm long, cleft 1/2-2/3 its length, the lobes narrowly deltate, sparsely puberulent, glabrous within; corolla white, tube cylindrical, 11-13mm long, enlarging to 6-8mm in diameter medially, densely appressed short-villous, upper lobes broadly rhombic, 3-4mm long, 4-5mm wide, lower lobes broadly rhombic-ovate, 4-5mm long, 5-7mm wide; ovary glabrous; style 1-2mm long, glabrous to sparsely puberulent
